Street Substitutions
With the release of ValBiz Version 6 we now correct and normalise street names on the sale data we receive. Historically any mis-spelt street names provided to us from our suppliers were passed on to our clients - we are making every effort to correct this.
To date we have introduced approximately 3000 street spelling substitution rules.
By normalising we mean for example that the many State Highway variation of naming conventions will come to you formatted to SH
For Example:
SH1
or where provided SH1 Clarence
The rules within Street Substitutions allow for the replacement of approximately 10 other naming conventions to State Highway.
For Example:
S/Hway, State H/way, St Highway, SHighway, SH/Way, State Hway. St Hway etc.
Once you are upgraded to ValBiz Version 6 your sales will be substituted as your files are downloaded or files created from our office.
How do I - Apply Street Substitutions against my database?
Download the latest list of Street Substitutions from the link below, save this file to a folder you can easily access (note the name of the folder, as we will ask you to find this file again), and call us on 0800 644 544 for further instructions to apply utilites against your database. Please note you will be required to have ValBiz administrator rights to run this utility. It is recommended that all users are logged off ValBiz whilst these utilities are run.
Time to run through utilities is dependant on size of database.

How do I - Report any other Street Substitutions that do not correct from the substitution lists?
Once you have completed the utility load - if you find any street spelling substitutions that have not been corrected by our substitution lists - please log the proposed substitution rule by emailing support@headway.co.nz using the format:
1 - Street name spelling wrong
2 - Street name spelling correct
3 - TLA of this street
